Aviation’s Destination for Custom Work Platforms

The Custom Process at SafeSmart Aviation

No matter what aircraft you maintain or fly, a maintenance schedule is not only a compulsory obligation, but also a life-saver. And the safety of those who work on the ground is also of utmost importance – there are several hazards present around the hangar and the ramp, particularly for technicians who work at height.

For any size or shape of aircraft, SafeSmart Aviation can help. We can assess access requirements, design custom work platforms, ladders and stairs, and manufacture high quality GSE to the requirements of your region’s safety and compliance laws.

For customers all around the globe, it is the SafeSmart experience that keeps them commissioning new solutions. Our process for developing customized access equipment has the needs of the client at the center of the project at all times.

If you have any enquiries about this process, and what SafeSmart Aviation can do for you, get in touch with us.

The Process

Consultation

With representatives all around the world, SafeSmart Aviation will come to your site for an assessment of your working space as well as to take measurements of your airplane or helicopter. A free site safety audit will identify any weaknesses in your access techniques in an objective manner, with advice on how to make your processes faster and safer when working at height.

Design and Drafting

SafeSmart Aviation’s in-house design team get to work on creating a plan for a height access product that will get the mechanic or technician as close as possible to the working area without the equipment itself coming in to contact with the aircraft – a critical point of caution, when even the most insignificant indentation on the fuselage or wings can become a catastrophic tear whilst in the air. We protect both the worker and the aircraft from falls from height.

Before production, SafeSmart Aviation will provide 3D CAD drawings and a costing for the project.

High Grade Manufacturing

Upon sign-off, our own factory gets to work on building your compliant, hand-manoeuvrable and effective custom work platform. With lightweight yet robust aluminum, professionally-welded joints and weather-resistant components and accessories such as castors and adjustable handrails, your product is made to spec to the highest level of height access compliance, no matter where in the world the unit is being delivered to.

Delivery, Installation and Training

SafeSmart Aviation has a logistics network that enables delivery to anywhere in the world, no matter the size, shape or configuration of your product.

A SafeSmart representative can be onsite when the product arrives to make sure that the equipment is delivered as it left the factory, as well as to consult on best practices for installation.

For more specialized equipment, SafeSmart Aviation also provides training to your ground support mechanics on best placement and usage that meets the requirements of even the most stringent safety regulations.
