Yakovlev

Yakovlev is a Russian aircraft designer and manufacturer, originally established as the Yakovlev Design Bureau. Historically, they are famous for their World War II fighter aircraft, notably the Yak series (Yak-1, Yak-3, Yak-7, and Yak-9). Their historical product range also includes training aircraft like the Yak-52 and jet trainers such as the Yak-38 (a VTOL aircraft). Currently, Yakovlev, now part of Irkut Corporation/United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), is focused on modern civil and military aircraft. Well-known contemporary products include the Yak-130 advanced jet trainer/light attack aircraft and the development of the Irkut MC-21 passenger airliner (previously referred to as the Yak-242).
