Md Helicopter

MD Helicopters, LLC, is an American manufacturer known for civil and military rotorcraft. The company traces its origins back to 1947 as a unit of Hughes Aircraft, later becoming Hughes Helicopters. In 1984, McDonnell Douglas acquired the company, which eventually became MD Helicopters in 1999 after the merger with Boeing.

Current well-known products include the MD 500 series (a light utility helicopter) and the NOTAR (No Tail Rotor) equipped helicopters, such as the MD 520N and MD 600N.

Historically significant products include the Hughes Model 269/Schweizer 300 (their first successful design, starting in the 1950s) and the Hughes Model 500, which evolved into the current MD 500 series.
