Hiller Helicopters

Hiller Aircraft was established by Stanley Hiller in 1942, creating the first helicopter factory on the West Coast of the United States. The company is historically renowned for pioneering rotorcraft development and is best known for its line of light helicopters.

Historical products include the coaxial-rotor XH-44 “Hiller-Copter,” which became operational in 1944. The most significant historical product is the Hiller UH-12 (also known as the Hiller 360), a successful light utility helicopter introduced in 1948, with over 2000 units built and used globally for military and civilian roles. Other historical models include the HH-120 Hornet and the VJ-100 autogyro concepts.

The organization’s current product focus and production status are not detailed, but their enduring legacy rests on the early, innovative helicopter designs derived from the UH-12 platform.
