UH 12 B

The UH 12 B is a foundational light utility helicopter produced by Hiller Helicopters. Hiller Helicopters was established by Stanley Hiller Jr., a pioneer who designed his first helicopter in the 1940s. The company quickly became known for its innovative rotorcraft designs. The UH-12 series, which includes the UH 12 B, was derived from the Hiller 360, a three-seat light helicopter first flown in 1948.

The UH-12 B model saw extensive use as a military trainer and observation aircraft, with over 1,600 units serving the US Army, notably during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. The early UH-12 holds the distinction of being the first commercial helicopter to complete a transcontinental flight across the United States. Its sturdy design led to wide adoption in commercial, military, and agricultural roles worldwide.
