Heliopolis Aircraft Works

Heliopolis Aircraft Works (HAW) was an Egyptian aircraft manufacturer established in the 1950s. Historically, they were known for producing license-built versions of foreign aircraft, most notably the HA-300 supersonic fighter prototype, developed in collaboration with Messerschmitt engineers, which was a significant historical project. While HAW has been largely inactive in recent decades concerning new aircraft production, it represented an important phase in Egyptian and Arab aerospace history. Information on current, well-known products is limited, as the organization’s primary focus shifted away from original design and manufacturing.
