The Yakovlev Yak-54 is a two-seat aerobatic and sports competition monoplane, developed in the 1990s by the Yakovlev Aircraft Corporation. It is an evolution of the Yakovlev Yak-55 and made its maiden flight on December 24, 1993. Production initially occurred at the Saratov Aviation Facility up to 2005, later moving to the Arsenyev Aviation Company “Progress” facility.
Yakovlev, as a foundational name in Russian aviation, traces its history back to Alexander Yakovlev’s first designed aircraft in 1924, leading to the official birth of the Experimental Design Bureau in 1927. The company produced iconic aircraft, including the formidable Yak piston fighters during WWII, with 35,086 units manufactured between 1941 and 1945. Yakovlev went on to develop trainers, interceptors, and the first Soviet vertical take-off and landing combat aircraft, the Yak-38.
A comprehensive array of platforms and access solutions assists with aircraft maintenance. Products like the Reach Deck Platform and Modular Stepover Platforms offer access for the Nose Section (Windshield & Cockpit, Bulkhead), and the Forward Fuselage (Cabin Access).
For the landing gear (NLG and MLG), the Ultraraise and Aviation Chock and Cone Trolley provide necessary support. The Super Maintenance Platform and Bridge Deck are suitable for the Middle Fuselage/Wing Box Area (Wing Box, Fuel Tanks, Oil Maintenance) and the Wing & Engine Pylon section, specifically targeting the Engine, Pylon, and related components. The Cantilever Platform offers precise access for the Tail Section (Empennage), including the Vertical Stabiliser and Rudder. These specialized stands ensure thorough, methodical access across the aircraft.
