Tu-22М3

The Tu-22M3 is a long-range strategic and maritime strike bomber, representing the third major variant in the Tu-22M series. Developed by Tupolev, this aircraft features variable-sweep wings, giving it superior performance compared to its Tu-22 predecessor. The Tu-22M3 received significant modernization, including new engines and updated avionics, enhancing its capability as a critical component of strategic air forces.

The Tupolev Design Bureau (OKB-156) was established in the Soviet Union by Andrey Tupolev in 1922. Tupolev became foundational to Soviet aviation, known for pioneering large metal aircraft construction. Its history includes designing a long line of successful military and civilian aircraft, from the Tu-4 to jet bombers like the Tu-16 and the original Tu-22, leading ultimately to the highly effective Tu-22M family of aircraft.

Maintenance platforms and access solutions are utilized across this aircraft for essential service needs. These solutions support thorough maintenance access to sections like the Nose Section (Windshield & Cockpit, Radome), the Landing Gear (Main Landing Gear and Nose Landing Gear), and the crucial Tail Section (Vertical Stabiliser and Rudder). Further access equipment supports the Wing & Engine Pylon area, focusing on the Engine Inlet/Exhaust and Hydraulics. Modular platforms also address general access needs around the Forward and AFT Fuselage, ensuring comprehensive operational readiness.
