TB-10

The TB-10 Tobago is a conventional, four or five-seat light cabin aircraft, introduced as part of the SOCATA TB family. It is an all-metal, low-wing monoplane featuring non-retractable tricycle landing gear. Certified in 1979, the TB-10 is powered by a 180 hp Lycoming O-360-A1AD piston engine mated to a constant-speed prop, offering reliable performance for personal and training use.

Its manufacturer, Socata – Groupe Aerospatiale, has a foundational history dating back to 1911 with the establishment of Morane-Saulnier. After a period of receivership, the company was reborn as Socata in 1966, later becoming the light plane division of the newly created Groupe Aérospatiale in 1970. This lineage established the company as a key participant in major aeronautical projects, leading to the development of the successful TB series.

To maintain the TB-10, maintenance teams require reliable access to critical areas. High-reaching platforms, like the Super Maintenance Platform and Ultraraise, are essential for working on the Wing & Engine Pylon section, specifically the engine, pylon, and hydraulics. For access to the nose section (including the windshield and cockpit), or the forward fuselage (such as cabin access and lighting systems), the Platform Ladder Warthog and various modular stepover platforms provide access. The cowl, known to be cumbersome to remove, benefits from sturdy platforms that ensure methodical access to the engine and accessory bay for inspection.
