T-6G

The T-6G Texan is an iconic two-seat trainer aircraft, pivotal in preparing pilots for combat during World War II and the Korean War. The T-6G variant itself was a significant upgrade, involving the reconstruction and modernization of earlier AT-6 and T-6 models between 1949 and 1953. This airframe is powered by a Pratt & Whitney R-1340-AN-1 engine, delivering 600 hp.

Its manufacturer, North American Aviation, was a foundational force in American aerospace history. Established in 1928, the company produced legendary aircraft across multiple eras, including the B-25 Mitchell bomber and the P-51 Mustang fighter. North American Aviation’s legacy centered on developing and mass-producing high-performance, indispensable aircraft designs. The company later became part of Rockwell International and is now part of Boeing, but its influence on training and military aviation remains unparalleled.

The comprehensive array of access equipment available supports thorough maintenance across this aircraft. For the engine and wing, specialized stands and platforms ensure first-class access to the pylon, engine components, and fuel systems. For the fuselage and tail section, modular stepover platforms and cantilever platforms provide secure, methodical access for checks on rear avionics and the vertical and horizontal stabilizers. Access solutions, including various platforms and ladders, are available for all sections including the cockpit, landing gear, and forward fuselage.
