T-6A Texan II

The T-6A Texan II is a high-performance, single-engine turboprop aircraft serving as the entry-level trainer in joint primary pilot training for the U.S. Air Force and Navy. It is a derivative of the Pilatus PC-9.

While the name recalls the foundational T-6 Texan built by North American Aviation—a company established in 1928 that became a major aerospace manufacturer—the T-6A Texan II originated from the Joint Primary Aircraft Training System (JPATS) program. Raytheon won the JPATS contract in 1996, leading to the T-6A’s introduction in 2000, replacing older trainers.

Maintenance equipment supports access to all aircraft sections. Reach Deck Platforms and Modular Stepover Platforms facilitate meticulous work on the Nose Section (Avionics, Windshield) and Forward Fuselage (Cabin Access, Environmental Control System). Sturdy stands and Aviation Chock Trolleys are indispensable for the Landing Gear (Nose and Main).

For the Wing & Engine Pylon area, platforms like the Super Maintenance Platform provide necessary elevation for accessing the Engine, Hydraulics, and Fuel Pumps. Maintenance around the Middle Fuselage (Wing Box, Fuel Tanks) and AFT Fuselage (AFT Bulkhead, Rear Avionics) is streamlined using Bridge Decks and Ultraraise systems. The Tail Section (Vertical Stabiliser, Rudder) is effectively reached using A Frame Aviation Platforms, ensuring absolute coverage for inspections and repairs.
