T-28D

The T-28D Nomad is a specialized variant of the North American T-28 Trojan, a military training aircraft originally built for the United States Air Force and Navy starting in the 1950s. The T-28D designation was applied to T-28Bs converted in 1962 for counter-insurgency, reconnaissance, search and rescue, and forward air controller roles, notably during the Vietnam War. This version was distinguished by being fitted with two underwing hardpoints.

North American Aviation (NAA) has a foundational history dating back to 1928, originally as a holding company. Forced to restructure, NAA became a manufacturing company known for designing and producing legendary aircraft like the P-51 Mustang. Manufacturing occurred between 1950 and 1957 for the T-28 series. Through a series of mergers and sales, NAA became part of North American Rockwell, now part of Boeing.
