SWALLOW 2

The SWALLOW 2 is a classic British light tourer aircraft from the 1930s, known for its two-seat, fixed conventional landing gear configuration. This model was a license-built variant of the German Klemm L.25, modified to meet British airworthiness standards.

The manufacturing history of the Swallow series begins with the British Klemm Aeroplane Company. This company was later known as the British Aircraft Manufacturing Co. They produced the Swallow II variant, often powered by Pobjoy Cataract or Cirrus Minor engines, with production continuing until 1938. A total of 107 Swallow II aircraft were built during this period.

The entity identified in the system, British Aircraft Corporation, was a much later and significantly larger aerospace firm. BAC was established in 1977 following the nationalization of several major UK aerospace entities. This modern corporation is distinct from the 1930s manufacturer responsible for producing the Swallow 2.
