STM-S2

The STM-S2 is a variant of the RYAN ST series of two-seat, low-wing monoplane aircraft. Built by RYAN Aeronautical in the United States, the ST series was foundational to the company’s success, beginning with the original ST model. RYAN Aeronautical was established by T. Claude Ryan and is renowned for manufacturing the “Spirit of St. Louis” and later becoming a major defense contractor. The ST series, including the STM-S2, was primarily used for training purposes, valued for its sturdy design and handling characteristics. The STM-S2 model, in particular, was built around 1940.

A selection of platforms and access solutions are utilized for maintenance around this classic aircraft. Access products, including the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, and Super Service Stand, facilitate detailed access across critical areas. These solutions support thorough inspection of the Wing & Engine Pylon section (including the engine body and components), the Tail Section (Vertical and Horizontal Stabiliser, Rudder), and the Nose Section (Windshield & Cockpit). The equipment also aids in servicing the Landing Gear and General Access points of the aircraft.
