The SLING LSA is a light sport aircraft manufactured by Airplane Factory. Based in South Africa, Airplane Factory was established by Mike Blyth and James Pitman, known for their circumnavigation flights in a prototype of the Sling aircraft. This foundational experience led to the development of a popular kit and factory-built aircraft line prized for its performance, durability, and ease of assembly.
A variety of height access and platform solutions are engineered for detailed and methodical maintenance across the SLING LSA.
Access solutions available include the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, Ultraraise, Super Service Stand, Easyraise, Bridge Deck, Cantilever Platform, Aviation Chock and Cone Trolley, Super Maintenance Platform, Branach Fibreglass Platform, A Frame Aviation Platform, and Platform Ladder Warthog.
These platforms and stands facilitate access to key aircraft sections: Nose Section: Allows access to the Radome, Antenna, Nose Avionics, Windshield & Cockpit, and Bulkhead.
Forward Fuselage: Addresses the Main Entry Door, Cargo/Baggage areas, Lighting Systems, Cabin Access, Environmental Control System (ECS), and Forward Wheel Well Access.
Landing Gear: Supports work on the Nose Landing Gear and Main Landing Gear.
Middle Fuselage / Wing Box Area: Provides access for servicing the Wing Box, Fuel Tanks, Oil Maintenance, Cabin Interior, Wi-Fi systems, and Emergency Exits.
Wing & Engine Pylon: Enables detailed maintenance of the Pylon, Anti-Ice components, Engine (Inlet/Exhaust, Body, Flap), Fan, Compressor, Turbine, FADEC/EEC, Hydraulics, Fuel Tanks/Pumps, Undercowl, and Armpit area.
AFT Fuselage: Ensures access to the AFT Bulkhead, AFT Cargo, AFT Cabin Doors, Auxiliary Fuel, Environmental Ducting, Rear Avionics, APU Compartments, and Rear Inboard/Outboard sections.
Tail Section (Empennage): Facilitates maintenance on the APU Intake, APU Generator, APU Compressor, APU Exhaust Port, Vertical Stabiliser, Horizontal Stabiliser, and Rudder.
General Access: Covers AF-BF areas.
