SLING 4

The SLING 4 is a South African four-seat light aircraft produced by Sling Aircraft (formerly The Airplane Factory) in Johannesburg. It was introduced in 2011 as a development of the successful Sling 2 model, expanding capacity to accommodate four persons. Initially offered as a kit aircraft, it is known for its performance characteristics, including a 130 KTAS cruise speed and a maximum range of 700 NM, typically powered by a turbocharged Rotax 914UL engine.

Various access solutions are foundational for maintaining the SLING 4. Platforms and stands, such as the Reach Deck Platform and Modular Stepover Platforms, provide technicians with safe working heights. These solutions are key for servicing the Nose Section, including avionics and the windshield, and the Forward Fuselage for cargo, cabin, and systems access.

Sturdy maintenance platforms and cantilever platforms are ideal for reaching the Middle Fuselage and Wing Box area to inspect fuel tanks and perform internal cabin maintenance. Accessing the Wing and Engine Pylon areas, critical for engine checks (inlet, exhaust, fan, turbine) and anti-ice systems, is efficiently managed using elevated platforms like the Super Maintenance Platform. Tail section access, vital for the vertical and horizontal stabilizers, is secured by ladder platforms and bridge decks, enabling detailed and methodical inspections across the entire airframe.
