SINUS

The Pipistrel Sinus is an ultralight motor glider, a versatile two-seat aircraft with a single engine. Its design has been foundational, later leading to the development of other models like the Virus and Alpha Trainer.

The aircraft is manufactured by Pipistrel, a company based in Slovenia and Italy known for producing light aircraft. Development of the Sinus began in November 1994, culminating in its introduction in 1995 and its first flight on October 16, 1996. The Sinus gained distinction in 2004 when it achieved a record-breaking flight, becoming the first ultralight aircraft to fly around the world. As of March 2019, over 1000 aircraft from the combined Sinus and Virus families have been built.
