Shanghai Y-10

The Shanghai Y-10 (Yun-10) is a four-engined narrow-body jet airliner developed in the 1970s by the Shanghai Aircraft Research Institute and manufactured by the Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Factory. Designed using the Boeing 707-320C as a reference, the Y-10 represented a foundational effort in domestic Chinese large-passenger aircraft development. The first flight took place on September 26, 1980.

Only three prototypes of the Y-10 were ever constructed. Although the aircraft was intended to use the domestically produced WS-8 turbojet engine, the prototypes were ultimately powered by Pratt & Whitney JT3D-7 turbofan engines. By 1985, the Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Factory shifted its focus to licensed production of the McDonnell Douglas MD-80, ending the Y-10 program before it could enter commercial service.

To maintain this aircraft, a variety of access solutions are available. These include height access solutions like the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, and Super Maintenance Platform, which support maintenance across major sections. These solutions address access requirements for areas such as the Nose Section (Windshield & Cockpit, Bulkhead), Forward Fuselage (MED, Cabin Access), Wing & Engine Pylon (Engine components, Fuel Tanks/Pumps), AFT Fuselage (APU Compartments), and Tail Section (Stabilizers, Rudder). Additional equipment, such as the Super Service Stand and various ladders and platforms, aids detailed, methodical maintenance throughout the airframe.
