The S-2S aircraft is an Aerotek-built version of the Pitts Special S-2B, modified into a single-cockpit configuration. It features a twin-tank fuel system and an engine upgrade to the heavier 260 hp Lycoming AEIO-540-D4A5. To accommodate the new engine, Aerotek shortened the fuselage by 14 inches forward of the cockpit. The wingspan measures 20 feet, 0 inches (6.10 m). Aerotek produced 17 units of the S-2S model.

For the Nose Section, access is necessary for the radome, antenna, nose avionics, windshield, cockpit, and bulkhead. The Forward Fuselage requires servicing access to doors, cargo/baggage areas, lighting systems, cabin access, the Environmental Control System (ECS), and the forward wheel well. For the Landing Gear, access solutions facilitate work on both the nose and main landing gear components.
Maintenance in the Middle Fuselage and Wing Box Area addresses the wing box itself, fuel tanks (center and wing), oil maintenance, cabin interior, Wi-Fi systems, and emergency exits. For the Wing and Engine Pylon, platforms allow access to the pylon, anti-ice systems, engine components (inlet, exhaust, body, flap, fan, compressor, turbine), FADEC/EEC, hydraulics, fuel tanks/pumps, undercowl, and armpit. The AFT Fuselage requires access for the rear bulkhead, cargo, cabin doors, auxiliary fuel, environmental ducting, rear avionics, and APU compartments. Finally, the Tail Section (Empennage) needs platforms for the APU intake, generator, compressor, exhaust port, vertical stabilizer, horizontal stabilizer, and rudder.
