The S-211 (later Aermacchi S-211) is a turbofan-powered jet trainer and light attack aircraft of Italian origin. SIAI-Marchetti, the original manufacturer, began development as a private initiative in 1976. The first prototype achieved its maiden flight on April 10, 1981, and the aircraft was introduced in 1984. The design is a compact two-seat shoulder-wing monoplane, capable of full aerobatic maneuvers, and powered by a single Pratt & Whitney Canada JT15D-4C turbofan. Around 60 units were built, serving air forces globally, including the Republic of Singapore Air Force and the Philippine Air Force. Following Aermacchi’s purchase of SIAI-Marchetti in 1997, Aermacchi took over the production rights, eventually developing the extensively modernised derivative, the M-345.
Maintenance access for the S-211 requires specialized height solutions. The Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, Ultraraise, Super Service Stand, Easyraise, Bridge Deck, Cantilever Platform, Aviation Chock and Cone Trolley, Super Maintenance Platform, Fibreglass Platform, A Frame Aviation Platform, and Platform Ladder Warthog all support detailed servicing. These products address access requirements across key aircraft sections, including the Nose Section (Radome, Antenna, Nose Avionics, Windshield & Cockpit, Bulkhead), Forward Fuselage (Main Entry Door, Cargo/Baggage, Cabin Access, and Forward Wheel Well Access), Landing Gear (Nose and Main), Middle Fuselage/Wing Box Area, Wing & Engine Pylon for the engine and associated components, the AFT Fuselage, and the Tail Section (Empennage). General access across the entire airframe is also covered.
