RQ-170 Sentinel

The RQ-170 Sentinel is a low observable uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) developed, tested, and fielded by the U.S. Air Force, providing reconnaissance and surveillance for joint forces commanders. Introduced around 2007, this flying wing design is manufactured by Lockheed Martin, a paramount aerospace and defense company. Lockheed Martin was formed in 1995 through the merger of Lockheed Corporation and Martin Marietta, combining legacies that shaped much of 20th-century aviation, including foundational stealth technology. Approximately 20 to 30 units of the Sentinel have been built, underscoring its specialized role.

To maintain this aircraft, height access solutions are indispensable. Modular platforms, trestle scaffold, and service stands support access across the airframe. These products facilitate detailed inspection of the Nose Section, including the radome and avionics, and the Landing Gear (Nose and Main). Elevated platforms are also vital for accessing the Middle Fuselage/Wing Box Area, especially for fuel tanks and oil maintenance, and the Wing and Engine Pylon sections, necessary for servicing the engine inlet/exhaust, fan, compressor, and turbine components. The solutions ensure thorough servicing of the AFT Fuselage and Tail Section.
