The Pilatus PC-24 is a light business jet designed and produced by the Swiss manufacturer Pilatus Aircraft. It is the company’s first jet-powered aircraft, developed to combine the speed of a jet with the short-field performance and versatility of the preceding turboprop PC-12. The PC-24 was introduced in 2013 and achieved EASA and FAA certification in late 2017. Powered by two Williams FJ44 turbofans, the PC-24 is known for its ability to operate from paved, dirt, and gravel runways.
Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. was forged in 1939 in Switzerland to ensure the nation could build and maintain its own aircraft. This patriotic need established a legacy of Swiss engineering, starting with utility platforms like the SB–2 Pelican and trainers like the P–2. The company became internationally renowned with the 1959 introduction of the PC–6 Porter, a short-take-off-and-landing workhorse. Pilatus continued this tradition of developing sturdy, versatile aircraft, delivering the 1,000th PC-12 in 2010 before launching the twin-jet PC-24 program.
