PA12

The PA-12 Super Cruiser is a three-seat, high-wing, single-engine light aircraft produced by Piper Aircraft. It was developed as an upgraded and redesigned version of the earlier Piper J-5. The aircraft is noted for its conventional landing gear and can be modified with floats or skis, demonstrating its versatility. A significant historical event for the PA-12 was in 1947 when two aircraft successfully completed a flight around the world.

Piper Aircraft Corporation, established by William T. Piper in 1937 with the creation of the Piper Cub, is the manufacturer of the PA-12. The company laid the groundwork for general aviation by establishing a strong dealer network early on. Production of the PA-12 Super Cruiser ran from 1946 to 1948, during which time 3,760 units were built, making it an enduring figure in post-war aviation.

For maintenance around the PA-12, various access solutions facilitate detailed work. Platforms and stands can be used for servicing the Landing Gear (both Nose and Main), Wing & Engine Pylon sections (including the Engine, Fuel Tanks/Pumps, and Undercowl), and general access points across the airframe. Stepover platforms and ladder platforms allow mechanics to reach the high wing and the Tail Section (Empennage), ensuring thorough inspection of the Vertical and Horizontal Stabilisers and Rudder.
