The PA-60-602P, commonly known as the Aerostar, is a high-performance, twin-piston engine aircraft. The model is part of the Aerostar family, originally designed by Ted Smith. Piper Aircraft acquired the design and manufacturing rights in 1978. Production of the Aerostar series, known for its speed and sleek design, ceased in 1984.
Piper Aircraft has an enduring legacy in general aviation, established by William T. Piper in the 1930s. The company began producing affordable, personal aircraft, exemplified by the iconic J-3 Cub. Over decades, Piper expanded its portfolio to include a wide range of trainers, single-engine aircraft, and more complex twin-engine models like the PA-60-602P, remaining a foundational American aircraft manufacturer.
Access solutions, including the Reach Deck Platform and Modular Stepover Platforms, can provide access across the entire airframe for comprehensive maintenance. Solutions like the Super Maintenance Platform and Super Service Stand are excellent for tasks at the Wing & Engine Pylon section (including the Engine, Undercowl, and Hydraulics) and the Landing Gear (NLG + MLG). For maintenance high on the Tail Section (Vertical Stabiliser and Rudder), elevated platforms or sectional staging, such as Super Trestle Scaffold or Cantilever Platform, are foundational. Items like Ultraraise and Easyraise platforms facilitate access to the Forward Fuselage (MED, Cargo, Cabin Access) and Nose Section (Windshield & Cockpit, Avionics). A-Frame and Platform Ladders support general access requirements and can assist with the Middle Fuselage/Wing Box Area (Oil Maintenance, Fuel Tanks).
