PA-60-600 (AEROSTAR 600)

The PA-60-600, known as the Aerostar 600, is a high-performance twin-engine piston aircraft recognized for its speed and luxurious accommodations for up to six people. It features a mid-wing cantilever monoplane design and a tricycle landing gear configuration.

The aircraft’s history traces back to aviation designer Ted Smith, who flew the first Aerostar 600 in October 1967. Smith’s company, originally responsible for the design and initial production, changed its name to the Ted Smith Aerostar Corporation in 1976. Following Smith’s death in 1976, the manufacturing rights and operations were acquired by Piper Aircraft Corporation in 1978. Production continued under Piper, including variants like the 601P and 602P, often called the Sequoia.

A variety of platforms and access solutions are utilized for servicing this aircraft, facilitating thorough maintenance access to sections such as the Nose, Forward Fuselage, Landing Gear (both nose and main), Wing & Engine Pylon, and Tail Section. These access tools ensure essential maintenance tasks are completed efficiently across the aircraft’s structure.
