The PA-44-180T Turbo Seminole is a twin-engine light aircraft derived from the Piper Cherokee. This turbocharged version was developed to enhance the performance of the standard PA-44 Seminole, which is frequently used for multi-engine flight training. The PA-44-180T was certified on November 29, 1979, powered by two Lycoming TO-360-E1A6D engines.
PIPER Aircraft’s history traces back to 1927. William T. Piper became foundational to the company, purchasing its assets in 1930 and reorganizing it as the Taylor Aircraft Company before renaming it to Piper Aircraft Corporation in 1937. The company became renowned for general aviation aircraft like the iconic Piper Cub. Throughout the decades, Piper continually developed successful models, including the twin-engine PA-23 Apache and later the PA-44 series, cementing its position as a leading name in general aviation manufacturing.
A range of platforms and access solutions support detailed maintenance around the PA-44-180T. These solutions are key for access across critical aircraft sections, including the Nose Section (Windshield & Cockpit, Bulkhead), Forward Fuselage (Cabin Access, Forward Wheel Well Access), Landing Gear (NLG, MLG), Middle Fuselage / Wing Box Area (Wing Box, Fuel Tanks), and the Wing & Engine Pylon (Engine, Fuel Tanks/Pumps). Platforms such as the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, Ultraraise, Super Service Stand, Easyraise, Bridge Deck, Cantilever Platform, Aviation Chock and Cone Trolley, Super Maintenance Platform, Branach Fibreglass Platform, A Frame Aviation Platform, and Platform Ladder Warthog provide the necessary height access for these required maintenance tasks.
