The PA-39 is known as the Twin Comanche, part of Piper Aircraft’s highly successful all-metal Comanche models, which included both single-engine (PA24) and twin-engine variants (PA30/39). Piper built approximately 7,000 aircraft in this series between 1958 and 1972. The PA-39 variant is distinguished by its counter-rotating engines, which provide enhanced handling, particularly in the event of an engine failure.
Piper Aircraft has a long and foundational history in general aviation manufacturing. Their Comanche series, spanning the PA-30 and PA-39 models, established a reputation for sturdy and reliable private aircraft. The Twin Comanche remains a notable aircraft, once winning the 1994 Round the World Air Race.
A suite of platforms and access solutions is utilized for methodical maintenance across the aircraft. Products like the Reach Deck Platform and Modular Stepover Platforms support access across the Nose Section (Windshield & Cockpit, Bulkhead), the Forward Fuselage (Cabin Access, Forward Wheel Well Access), and the Landing Gear (Nose Landing Gear, Main Landing Gear).
Specialized platforms, such as Cantilever Platforms, address detailed access needs around the Wing & Engine area, supporting work on the Engine (Inlet/Exhaust), Pylon, and related systems. Other solutions, including Super Maintenance Platforms, facilitate comprehensive inspection and support maintenance across the Middle Fuselage and Tail Section (Vertical Stabiliser, Horizontal Stabiliser).
