The Piper PA-31 Navajo is a family of twin-engined, low-wing utility aircraft, designed by Piper Aircraft for corporate transport, small cargo operations, and feeder airlines. Development began in 1962, and the first flight occurred on September 30, 1964. Production ran from 1967 to 1984, with 3,942 units built. The PA-31 platform was further developed into the pressurized PA-31T Cheyenne.
Piper Aircraft Corporation was established in 1937 by William T. Piper, with the iconic Piper Cub being born that same year. Piper became foundational to general aviation, expanding its fleet with models like the PA-23 Apache (1954) and later the PA-46 Malibu (1983).
Maintenance solutions for the PA-31, such as the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, sturdy Super Trestle Scaffold, and Super Maintenance Platform, provide foundational access across critical airframe sections. These systems are invaluable for performing detailed work on the Nose Section (including the radome and avionics), the Wing & Engine Pylon area (including the engine body, fan, and hydraulics), the Landing Gear, and General Access points. For high-reach tasks on the Tail Section (such as the vertical and horizontal stabilizers) and the AFT Fuselage, products like the Ultraraise and Cantilever Platform ensure first-class accessibility.
