PA-28R-180

The PA-28R-180 Arrow is a leading light aircraft in the PIPER Aircraft lineage, distinguished by its retractable landing gear, a key upgrade from the fixed-gear Cherokee models. The original Arrow, introduced in 1967, was powered by a 180 horsepower Lycoming IO-360-B1E engine and quickly became popular, selling over 1,100 units in its first two years of production. It has a gross weight of 2,500 lbs.

PIPER Aircraft’s history began with the founding of Taylor Brothers Aircraft Manufacturing Company in 1927, which William T. Piper purchased in 1930. Renamed Piper Aircraft Corporation, the company became foundational in general aviation, particularly with the introduction of the iconic Piper Cub. After successfully establishing itself with straightforward, affordable aircraft, the company developed the Cherokee family, beginning in the early 1960s, a series that the PA-28R-180 expanded upon. PIPER Aircraft continues to manufacture a wide range of aircraft for training, personal use, and business transport today.

Maintenance access around this aircraft requires specific solutions, especially for the Nose Section, Landing Gear, and Wing areas, which handle critical components. Platforms and stands provide access for detailed work on the Main Landing Gear, engine inlet/exhaust, and avionics bays. Solutions like modular stepover platforms are ideal for reaching the wing box and fuel tanks over the middle fuselage. Specific platforms aid in thorough maintenance on the tail section elements like the vertical and horizontal stabilizers.
