PA-23-235

The PA-23-235 Apache 235 is a twin-engine aircraft developed by PIPER Aircraft. Its lineage traces back to the Twin Stinson design conceived in the 1950s. Piper Aircraft, established in the late 1920s, acquired the design from the Stinson Division, using it as the foundational design for the PA-23 series. The initial production version, the Apache, entered service in 1954.

The PA-23-235 variant, often referred to as the Apache 235, was a more powerful evolution of the original design. It was fitted with 235 hp Lycoming O-540 engines and offered a five-seat configuration. Only 118 units of this specific variant were built. The success of the wider PA-23 series, which includes the more powerful Aztec, solidified Piper’s position in the twin-engine private aircraft market through the 1980s.
