P51-D-30NT

The P-51D-30NT is a variant of the legendary North American P-51 Mustang, a long-range, single-seat fighter-bomber that became an icon of World War II. The Mustang originated in 1940 when the British requested North American Aviation to produce Curtiss P-40 fighters. North American responded by offering to design a superior aircraft, resulting in the prototype NA-73X flying in October 1940. This foundational decision launched the aircraft, which the British named Mustang I.

North American Aviation quickly became a foundational manufacturer in American aerospace. The P-51D series, known for its distinctive bubble canopy, dramatically improved visibility and effectiveness. The P-51D-30NT variant represents a later production block of this paramount fighter.
