The P.180 AVANTI II is an Italian-built, executive/VIP light transport aircraft featuring twin, wing-mounted turboprop engines in a unique pusher configuration. Certified in 2005 by EASA and in 2006 by the US FAA, the Avanti II is renowned for its efficiency and speed, offering a cabin size comparable to mid-size jets while maintaining good fuel economy. Its distinctive design allows the wing to be significantly smaller than on conventional aircraft, and the pressurized cabin seats up to nine passengers.
The manufacturer, Piaggio AERO Industries S P A, has a long history in Italian aviation, tracing its roots back to 1884 when Enrico Piaggio established a woodworking plant for the shipbuilding industry. The company later expanded into railways and eventually aircraft manufacturing, with the development of the original P.180 Avanti program beginning in 1981. Production of the P.180 series, which the Avanti II continues, has been ongoing since 1986.
Access solutions are indispensable for thorough maintenance across the Avanti II. Platforms and stands—including Reach Deck Platforms, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, Ultraraise, and Super Service Stands—provide necessary height access for all critical areas. These products facilitate maintenance on the Nose Section (radome, avionics, windshield), the Forward Fuselage (main entry door, cargo, Environmental Control System access), and the Landing Gear (NLG and MLG). Detailed work on the Wing and Engine Pylon, including the turbine, fuel systems, and hydraulics, is supported, as is access to the Middle Fuselage/Wing Box and the AFT Fuselage and Tail Section (vertical and horizontal stabilizers).
