MYSTERE-FALCON 50

The MYSTERE-FALCON 50 is renowned as the company’s first aircraft capable of transatlantic flight, designed for long-range missions covering 3,400 nautical miles non-stop. This trijet executive aircraft was developed in response to a demand in the United States for greater range, marking a distinct break from earlier Falcon models. The Falcon 50 made its maiden flight on November 7, 1976, powered by three Garrett TFE 731-3 jet engines. Production ran from 1976 to 2008, with 352 units built, serving both civilian and military users globally.

Dassault, the manufacturer, traces its origins back to Marcel Bloch, an aviation pioneer who founded the Société des Avions Marcel Bloch in 1929. The company built both military and civilian aircraft. After World War II, the company was renamed Dassault. The foundational success of the business jet line began in 1963 with the Mystère Falcon 20. The Falcon 50 program demonstrated the company’s commitment to advancing long-range, high-performance civil aviation. The aircraft’s production leveraged a collaborative manufacturing process, with the fuselage built in Saint-Nazaire and the wings in Colomiers, before final assembly and flights took place in Mérignac.
