MXT-7-180A

The MXT-7-180A is a taildragger configuration within the Maule MX-7 series of utility aircraft. Certified in the early 1990s, this model utilizes a 180 hp Lycoming O-360 engine, delivering reliable performance, particularly in demanding environments. This aircraft descends from the long lineage of Maule designs, known for their short take-off and landing (STOL) capabilities.

The manufacturer, Maule Air, was founded by the late B.D. Maule. Production began with a four-place aircraft certified in 1961, establishing the basic airframe that would support decades of development. Maule consistently refined its designs, resulting in over 25 models, mostly tailwheel configurations, across two foundational airframes. This history has cemented Maule Air as a foundational presence in general aviation, specializing in sturdy and versatile short-field aircraft.
