MQ-9B SkyGuardian/SeaGuardian

The MQ-9B SkyGuardian and its maritime variant, the SeaGuardian, are advanced remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) designed for long-endurance intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions. They are evolved from the foundational MQ-9 Reaper, which was itself developed from the General Atomics MQ-1 Predator. The MQ-9B family is distinctive for being the world’s first RPAS that can be Type-Certifiable to fly in civilian airspace, achieved through cooperation with international aviation authorities.

General Atomics, the manufacturer, has a pioneering history in unmanned aerial systems (UAS), tracing its lineage back through successful systems like the Predator. General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. (GA-ASI) remains a foundational leader in the defense and aerospace sector, specializing in mission-capable remotely piloted aircraft for military and allied forces globally.

Various platforms and access solutions are utilized to support maintenance tasks across these aircraft. These specialized stands and platforms facilitate access to all key areas, including the Nose Section (Radome, Antenna), Landing Gear (NLG, MLG), Wing & Engine Pylon (Engine inlet/exhaust, Hydraulics), and the Tail Section (Vertical Stabiliser, Horizontal Stabiliser). Providing detailed, methodical access solutions ensures optimal operational readiness.
