MQ-8B Fire Scout

The MQ-8B Fire Scout is a combat-proven, autonomous helicopter system that delivers real-time Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) and Target-acquisition capabilities without requiring manned aircraft or space-based assets. This rotary-wing Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) provides critical situational awareness to tactical users.

Northrop Grumman, the manufacturer, traces its foundational history back through major aerospace mergers. The current corporation was formed in 1994 with the acquisition of Grumman by Northrop. The company has since grown into a foundational American defense contractor, becoming a leading provider of advanced technology and defense systems, including innovative autonomous systems like the Fire Scout.

A variety of access solutions are available to support methodical maintenance around the MQ-8B Fire Scout. Modular platforms, such as the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, and Ultraraise, are essential for accessing the Nose Section (Radome, Antenna, and Nose Avionics) and the Tail Section (Vertical Stabiliser and Horizontal Stabiliser). Specialized stands like the Super Service Stand and Super Maintenance Platform provide access to the Wing & Engine Pylon area (Engine, Hydraulics, and Fuel Tanks/Pumps) and the Landing Gear for routine inspection. Cantilever platforms are used for reaching various points along the Forward and AFT Fuselage, ensuring thorough support for all maintenance and inspection requirements.
