MiG-29UB

The MiG-29UB is the two-seat operational conversion trainer variant of the paramount MiG-29 Fulcrum fighter aircraft. Designed to retain the full combat capability of the single-seat fighter, the UB model facilitates pilot training while maintaining front-line readiness. This model features a slightly raised second cockpit for the instructor, and while it lacks the radar of the single-seat version, it remains an indispensable asset for air forces worldwide.

The aircraft’s heritage traces back to the Mikoyan-Gurevich Design Bureau (MiG) in the Soviet Union. Founded by Artem Mikoyan and Mikhail Gurevich, MiG developed legendary fighters. The design bureau was pivotal in creating the Soviet Union’s high-performance jet aircraft starting in the 1940s. Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the entity merged to form the Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG (RSK MiG). The MiG-29UB first flew in 1981 and entered service soon after, becoming a widely exported model.

A range of platforms and access solutions assists in the methodical maintenance of the MiG-29UB. Access products are used for detailed inspections of the nose section (including the radome and avionics), the main and nose landing gear, and the wing and engine pylons (which require access to components like the fan, compressor, and turbine). Access to the forward and aft fuselage sections, including auxiliary fuel and rear avionics, is also supported.
