MIG-15UTI

The MIG-15UTI is the foundational two-seat jet trainer version of the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 fighter aircraft. The MiG-15 revolutionized military aviation as one of the world’s first successful swept-wing jet fighters, entering service around 1949 and achieving distinction during the Korean War. The UTI variant was crucial for training pilots on the powerful, high-speed jet platform.

Mikoyan-Gurevich, the Soviet design bureau responsible for the aircraft, began its lineage of jet fighters immediately after World War II, developing the MiG-15 from early prototypes like the I-310. Manufacturing of the MiG-15 totaled over 13,000 units in the USSR, with thousands more built under license globally. This widespread production cemented the aircraft’s position as one of the most produced jet fighters in history.

Maintaining the airframe and systems of the MIG-15UTI requires specialized access. Reach Deck Platforms and Modular Stepover Platforms are key for working on the nose section, specifically the windshield and cockpit. Accessing the engine (Inlet/Exhaust), compressor, and turbine areas within the Wing & Engine Pylon section is supported by Super Service Stands and Cantilever Platforms. For work on the landing gear (Nose Landing Gear and Main Landing Gear), robust A-Frame Aviation Platforms are indispensable. Maintenance platforms and scaffolding solutions aid access to the AFT Fuselage, including the AFT Bulkhead and rear avionics.
