MH-60R Seahawk

The MH-60R Seahawk, known as the “Romeo,” is the world’s most advanced multi-mission maritime helicopter, built by Sikorsky Aircraft. Developed from the foundational Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk, the MH-60R was designed to consolidate the roles of the SH-60B and SH-60F variants, providing foundational capabilities for Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) and Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW). Development began in 1993 with a focus on comprehensive upgrades, leading to its redesignation as the MH-60R to reflect its multi-mission scope. The aircraft entered service with the U.S. Navy in 2006.

Sikorsky Aircraft has a history of helicopter manufacturing dating back to 1923. The company has produced many foundational aircraft, including the Black Hawk family from which the Seahawk is derived. The MH-60R is currently supported by Lockheed Martin, ensuring its operational edge is maintained well beyond 2040. The Romeo features advanced sensors and weapons, including Mk-54 air-launched torpedoes and Hellfire missiles, making it essential for modern naval operations globally.

A range of platforms and access solutions address maintenance needs across the airframe. Modular Stepover Platforms and Bridge Decks provide access for the Nose Section components like the radome, antenna, and cockpit. Ultraraise and Super Service Stands are key for reaching the Wing & Engine Pylon areas, including the turbine, compressor, and hydraulics. For the AFT Fuselage and Tail Section, which include the APU compartments, vertical, and horizontal stabilisers, Cantilever Platforms and Super Trestle Scaffold offer sturdy access. Reach Deck Platforms and A Frame Aviation Platforms facilitate thorough maintenance of the Landing Gear and Forward Fuselage sections.
