M-5-235C

The M-5-235C Lunar Rocket is a cornerstone aircraft from Maule Air, certificated in April 1976. Powered by a 235-hp Lycoming O-540-J1A5D engine, this aircraft is known for its short take-off capabilities, with a claimed 350-foot roll. The 235C achieves a cruise speed of 163 mph and has a low stall speed of 42 mph with flaps down. It quickly became the manufacturer’s main product.

Maule Air, known for producing rugged and dependable short takeoff and landing (STOL) aircraft, established a reputation for building tough, general aviation planes suitable for demanding operations.

A range of access solutions supports maintenance around this aircraft. Modular stepover platforms and cantilever platforms allow detailed work on sections like the Wing & Engine Pylon and the Tail Section, including the horizontal stabilizer and rudder. Platform ladders and super maintenance platforms facilitate general access, including the forward fuselage for cabin and cargo needs, and the nose section for avionics and the engine bulkhead. Ultraraise and Easyraise products assist in reaching landing gear (NLG and MLG) for thorough inspection and servicing.
