M-20A

The M-20A Mark 20A is a classic four-seat speedster from Mooney Aircraft. Mooney Aircraft began developing the M20 series by adapting the design principles of the earlier M18 Mite. The M20 first flew in 1953 and achieved certification in 1955. The M-20A model, introduced in 1958, featured a Lycoming O-360-A1A engine rated at 180 horsepower. A key historical note is the Airworthiness Directive 68-25-6, which mandated retrofitting a metal tail on all M20 and M-20A aircraft, as original models featured wooden tails.

Various platforms and access solutions address maintenance needs across the aircraft structure. Cantilever and bridge deck platforms are ideal for reaching the nose section (radome, antenna, avionics, and windshield). For the wing and engine pylon area—including the engine body, inlet/exhaust, and fuel pumps—super service stands and maintenance platforms provide necessary height and stability.
