Manufacture of the M-18 Dromader traces back to Polish aviation efforts in the mid-1970s. The aircraft first flew on August 27, 1976. While the M-18 is often associated with PZL-Mielec for its primary production, the development involved cooperation across the state-owned aviation industry, including the PZL Warszawa-Okecie facility.
