The Auster J5P is a variant of the Auster J/5 Autocar, a four-seat, high-wing touring monoplane built by Auster Aircraft Limited in Rearsby, Leicestershire, UK, starting in the late 1940s. The J/5 Autocar was developed further into the J/5G in 1951. The later J/5P model specifically incorporated a more powerful de Havilland Gipsy Major engine. Auster Aircraft built various light aircraft, often derived from wartime spotter planes, before ceasing operations.
