J5B

The J5B Autocar is a single-engined, four-seat, high-wing touring monoplane manufactured by Auster Aircraft Limited. Auster Aircraft, based in Rearsby, Leicestershire, built this British aircraft as part of its post-war Model J series, which began with the J/1 Autocrat. The J/5B Autocar prototype, G-AJYK, completed its initial flight in August 1949 and was presented at the Farnborough Air Show in September of the same year. Subsequent development led to the J/5G variant, also known as the Cirrus Autocar, which first flew in 1951.

Various platforms and access solutions address maintenance requirements across the aircraft. For the Nose Section, including the windshield and cockpit, Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, and Platform Ladder Warthog provide elevation. The Super Maintenance Platform and Ultraraise are adaptable for access to the Forward Fuselage, targeting cargo areas, cabin access, and forward wheel well maintenance.

When servicing the Landing Gear (NLG and MLG), the A Frame Aviation Platform is suitable for targeted access. For the Middle Fuselage and Wing Box Area, including wing maintenance and cabin interior access, Bridge Deck and Cantilever Platform offer flexible configurations. Maintenance tools such as the Aviation Chock and Cone Trolley support general operations. All these access systems ensure thorough maintenance for sections from the Nose to the Tail Section (Empennage), providing secure access to components like the vertical and horizontal stabilisers.
