J230-D

The J230-D is an Australian light-sport aircraft produced by Jabiru Aircraft. It is known for its composite design and high efficiency, offered as both a kit for amateur construction and a complete ready-to-fly aircraft. It features a wide cockpit and typically uses the 120 hp Jabiru 3300 four-stroke powerplant.

Jabiru Aircraft was formed in early 1988 by Rodney Stiff (engineering) and Phil Ainsworth (sales) in Bundaberg, Australia, to develop light aircraft designs using composite materials. Since its founding, Jabiru has focused on creating highly efficient, light sport models and accompanying aero engines.

Aviation platforms and access solutions facilitate thorough maintenance across the J230-D. Modular stepover platforms and a bridge deck are ideal for accessing the high-mounted wing box area, crucial for fuel tank maintenance. A cantilever platform provides precise reach for engine maintenance on the wing and engine pylon, including the fuel pumps and exhaust. For the fuselage, super service stands support work on the nose section, cabin access, and forward wheel well. For the tail section, platform ladders and versatile scaffold systems enable detailed work on the vertical and horizontal stabilizers and rudder. Specialized transport for wheel chocks assists with general access requirements.
