J1N

The Auster J/1N Autocar is a four-seat light touring and utility aircraft that followed Auster Aircraft’s tradition of reliable, versatile aircraft descended from World War II-era observation planes. Auster Aircraft, initially Taylorcraft Aeroplanes (England) Limited, began manufacturing in the 1930s, gaining prominence with the military AOP (Air Observation Post) aircraft. Post-war, the company focused on civil variants, rebranding as Auster Aircraft Limited in 1946. The Autocar model, first introduced in 1950, was a progression from earlier J-series aircraft, known for its short-field capability and spacious cabin.

Access solutions are available for comprehensive maintenance across the J/1N. For general inspections of the Nose Section (including the radome and avionics) and the Forward Fuselage (such as the main entry door and cabin access), Reach Deck Platforms or Platform Ladders offer reliable height access. Modular Stepover Platforms are essential for bridging obstacles and accessing the Wing Box Area and Fuel Tanks in the Middle Fuselage.

Maintenance on the Wing, including the engine components (inlet, exhaust, and undercowl), is supported by Super Service Stands and Cantilever Platforms, providing focused outreach over complex assemblies. Access to the AFT Fuselage, including the rear avionics and AFT cargo areas, benefits from the adaptability of the Super Trestle Scaffold. Finally, the Tail Section (empennage), including the vertical and horizontal stabilizers, can be reached using specialized A Frame Aviation Platforms. These durable access products ensure thorough and methodical inspection for all required aircraft sections.
