J-3L-65

The J-3L-65 is a variant of the legendary Piper J-3 Cub, an aircraft recognized as an icon of American general aviation. The Cub family, known for its simple, rugged design and excellent low-speed handling, has been widely used for flight training and private ownership since its introduction. The J-3L-65 specifically refers to models powered by the 65 hp Lycoming engine.

PIPER Aircraft’s history is foundational to light aircraft manufacturing. The company began as Taylor Aircraft Company in 1927 before William T. Piper acquired control and renamed it Piper Aircraft Corporation in 1937. The J-3 Cub was the company’s defining early product, with over 19,000 units sold between 1938 and 1947, including thousands of military variants. This massive production run cemented Piper’s status as a leading producer of affordable and durable aircraft, establishing a legacy that continues to this day.

A variety of platforms and access solutions are utilized to support maintenance on this high-wing aircraft, including specialized deck platforms, modular stepover platforms, and cantilever platforms. These access solutions facilitate essential work on sections such as the landing gear, the wing box area (for fuel and oil maintenance), and the tail section (empennage).
