The Auster IV (Model G) aircraft was a key development for Auster Aircraft, featuring a slightly larger, three-seat cabin compared to earlier models and utilizing the Lycoming O-290 engine. Auster Aircraft, originally established in 1938 as Taylorcraft Aeroplanes (England) Limited, was a prominent British aircraft manufacturer based in Rearsby, Leicestershire. The company evolved its designs through wartime service and post-war civil aviation, eventually merging into Beagle Aircraft in 1961, marking the end of the Auster name by 1962.
