HH-65 Dolphin

The HH-65 Dolphin is a vital search and rescue helicopter, primarily serving as a Short Range Recovery aircraft for the United States Coast Guard. Its manufacturer, Airbus Helicopters (historically known as Eurocopter), developed the airframe, which is recognized for its unique fenestron tail rotor design. The original HH-65A model, certified for single-pilot instrument flight rules, featured an advanced four-axis autopilot. Subsequent fleet upgrades led to the HH-65B with improved avionics, and the HH-65C which significantly boosted performance with new Arriel engines and an upgraded tail gearbox.

A comprehensive array of access and maintenance solutions are used to support this aircraft. High-duty platforms are essential for maintenance across all sections, including the nose (for radome and avionics work) and the landing gear (for nose and main landing gear inspections). Modular and cantilever platforms provide secure, elevated access for servicing the upper wing and engine pylon, including the turbine, compressor, and associated hydraulic systems. Specialized trestles and stands facilitate thorough inspections and repairs on the tail section, which includes the stabilizers and rudder. These solutions ensure workers can safely and effectively address maintenance needs across the fuselage, from the forward cabin doors to the rear avionics and APU compartments.
