Hermes 900

The Hermes 900 is a Multi-Mission Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Unmanned Aerial System (UAS). Developed from the Elbit Hermes 450, the 900 variant first flew on December 9, 2009. This UAS is designed for reconnaissance, surveillance, and communications relay, offering an endurance of up to 36 hours and a service ceiling of 30,000 feet (9,100 m). It carries a maximum payload of 350 kg and is known for its adverse weather capabilities and minimal maintenance design.

Elbit, the manufacturer, is a global defense contractor. Elbit Systems, founded in 1993, became a foundational element in defense and aerospace technology, including pioneering Helmet Mounted Display (HMD) technology and advancing various military platforms. The company’s continued demand for the Hermes 900 emphasizes its technological edge in supporting complex missions across diverse environments.

Maintenance access for this aircraft requires specialized height access solutions. A range of platforms and stands, including the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, Ultraraise, and Super Service Stand, are utilized to support methodical maintenance. These solutions provide detailed access to all critical areas of the aircraft. This includes the Nose Section (Radome, Antenna, Nose Avionics, Windshield & Cockpit, Bulkhead), the Forward Fuselage (Main Entry Door, Cargo/Baggage, Lighting Systems), the Landing Gear (NLG and MLG), the Wing & Engine Pylon (Engine, Fuel Tanks/Pumps, Hydraulics), the AFT Fuselage (Rear Avionics, APU Compartments), and the Tail Section (Vertical Stabiliser, Horizontal Stabiliser, Rudder).
